NBO - Nasjonalt vedlikeholdsseminar 2019 I Oslo - Målet med seminaret er å skape en møteplass der vi kan dele og spre NBO erfaringer og få litt nytt påfyll. An NBO conference organized by NBO Master Trainers Kari Slinning and Unni Tranaas-Vannebo, took place at the Centre for Child and Adolescent Mental Health (RBUP), Nydalen, Oslo, on May 23 rd., 2019. NBO practitioners from Norway, Iceland and Denmark participated and discussed their experiences with the NBO in their respective practices. On the following day, Kevin Nugent joined NBO trainers, Kari Slinning, Unni Tranaas-Vannebo, Rakel Greve, Hege Sandtrø and Inger-Pauline Landsem (Nina Cheetham was unable to attend) to discuss NBO training and research. 2019 have been a very nice “NBO year” in Norway featuring seven training programs in municipalities across Norway. Winter and Spring 2019 – there were 3 trainings: Asker municipality (20 km south of Oslo): 26 participants: midwives, public health nurses, psychologists, physical therapists. Ålesund hospital at the north-west part of Norway: A group of midwives and nursery nurses at the maternity ward Kristiansand municipality (350 km south of Norway): 25 participants: midwives, public health nurses, psychologists, physical therapists. Autumn/Winter: Larvik municipality (150km south of Oslo): 25 p.: midwifes, public health nurses, psychologists. Mo i Rana municipality (700 km north of Oslo, close to the Arctic circle): 25 p.: midwives, public health nurses, child welfare workers. Vikna municipality ( 650 km north of Oslo, in the middle of Norway close to where Unni lives): 13 p.: midwives, public health nurses, psychologists. Lillehammer and Gjøvik ( 200 km. north of Oslo. Lillehammer where the Olympic games were held in 1994),): 31p.: midwives, public health nurses, psychologists and physical therapists. Some groups who started in 2018 finished in 2019. We also had a very successful national NBO maintenance seminar in Oslo in May with Kevin Nugent as the keynote speaker. Close to 100 participants from all over Norway attended. Due to the high request for trainings we have started the process of Train the Trainers program. Seven new trainers from three different regions in Norway are participating - these are nurses, a psychologist, an MD and a psychiatrist. They have finished the 2 days NBAS training and are now practicing on newborns and will hopefully become certified in NBAS by June/July 2020 and the continue with the NBO training and so on. Looking forward to 2020 - there is a lot of activity around NBO trainings in Norway, as each of the trainings lasts for half a year. In 2020 we have planned 8 new trainings. Most of them are in the municipalities in well-baby clinics, but also one is at a big maternity ward in the middle part of Norway. The two pictures are from the last day of training in Kristiansand (with Nina and Unni) and from Ålesund (with Inger Pauline and Unni). Inger Pauline Landsem and Unni Tranaas-Vannebo hope to come to attend the WAIMH conference and to participate on the NBO meeting in Brisbane and meet all of the NBO/NBAS colleagues there.
